Limit Blisters with New Athletic Socks!!

Before we get started, lets define what a blister is. A blister is a swelling of the skin that contains watery fluid and is caused by burning or irritation.

With sports becoming pretty demanding these days, a nice pair of socks can go along way with healthy footcare. Lets face it athletes cannot perform at 100% when they got that burning, and swelling feeling on their foot. Even in baseball when pitchers develop blisters on there throwing hand, there sidelined for exstended periods of time. Although certain socks may help you limit your blisters, not all of them will.

There are plenty of ways to prevent blisters. Here are some helpful tips to get you back at 100% during your athletic season.

( 1 ) Wear Properly Fitted Shoes.

( 2 ) Keeping feet dry during a race is key! So if you pour water over your face be careful.

( 3 ) Wear polyester or acrylic socks, as opposed to cotton or wool. Special blister-proof running socks are worth experimenting with.
( 4 ) Experiment with petroleum jelly or foot powders. These often help prevent blistering.
( 5 ) Use bandage strips or blister block adhesive tape. Special sports products are now widely marketed.
( 6 ) Try antiperspirant. One study showed that after spraying it on feet for several days, use of antiperspirant helped prevent blisters.

( 7 ) Try a foot soak to help prevent blisters. Use two bags of black tea (not herbal) for each quart of water. Soak feet once to twice a week for 5 minutes, twice per day.
